Membership & Governance

Membership for 2025

The Society is reliant on a strong paid up membership list:

  • to provide the assured finance essential to enable us to develop plans for the year
  • as evidence of village support when it comes to applying for grants, etc

We are extremely grateful to the many people that supported us last year and hope that you will want to continue that support in 2025.  Based on the experience gained last year, we have adjusted the membership structure slightly.  Membership rates for 2025 are:

  •     Individual membership:   £10
  •     Family membership:        £20

Members get free admission to all events put on by CVHS during 2025.  Non-members are also welcomed to join in our activities, at a charge of £5 per person per event.

Please note that some events may include provision of one-off benefits to participants (beer and beer glasses is a good example from our 2024 Pub Revival Day). In such cases we may need to make a supplementary charge as a contribution towards the cost of providing these benefits. Any such supplements will be advertised beforehand.

2025 Membership of the Society is available now.  Please complete a Membership Application Form and make your payment as detailed on the form.

Steering Group

The Society is managed and organised by a small Steering Group of history enthusiasts.  We are always keen to hear the ideas of other members on how we might further develop the Society. Please send us your thoughts to: [email protected]) or speak to any member of the Steering Group, who are:

   John Howard - Founder

   Sian Lewis - Treasurer

   Derek Allen

   Karen Vear

   Graham Barry

   David Impey

   John Lewis

Governance & Constitution

We have a Governance document, Living History, that describes how we operate and organise.

We will develop a formal Constitution that lays down the 'rules' that we will follow.  This may be required when we come to apply for grants to assist with our activities
